| 2:22 | sentence we’re gonna have to unpack that thing in fact we’re gonna have to do two things in this in a sermon to morning in |
| 2:28 | this morning we’re going to have to first unpack what does it mean Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin |
| 2:34 | of the world but the other thing we’re going to have to do is pay close attention to how witnessing is done |
| 2:40 | there’s some really really confusing ideas out there about what it means to be a witness as a Christian and we’re |
| 2:47 | going to clean some of that up today in our sermon so with that we’re going to first look at this idea Behold the Lamb |
| 2:54 | of God who takes away the sin of the world and by the way what do you think the world means there in that context |

| 3:07 | the sin of those who are really trying hard while the rest of the people who weren’t really trying hard to be good |
| 3:13 | well he didn’t die for them no it’s not what it says Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the |
| 3:20 | whole world these are very comforting and assuring words for us and the reason for this is this is that while the devil |
| 3:28 | being who the devil is The Great Deceiver of the world he would deceive you into believing yeah you know that |
| 3:35 | sin that you committed that one that you never tell anyone about that sin that you are ashamed of if it ever got out on |
| 3:42 | social media you’d want to die that sin well the devil says yeah Christ probably |
| 3:48 | didn’t die for that you you when you stand before him he’s going to basically say |
| 3:55 | thanks for trying I appreciate the fact that you believed in me but you see there’s this sin that was really that |
| 4:01 | you committed that whoa that was like Way Beyond what I could die for or you |
| 4:06 | can sit there and say well maybe Jesus died for Roger because Roger’s an upstanding guy but for me Pastor |
| 4:13 | Roseboro see that that’s the reason why he’s a pastor he’s trying really hard to make |
| 4:19 | up the ground that’s lost between him and Roger right that’s not what the cross is about |
| 4:25 | the cross in this statement Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world tells us that there is no sin |
| 4:31 | unaccounted for there’s no sin that fell through the rafters is hiding in some dank murky |
| 4:38 | place right now that at the end of the world Jesus is going to pull out and go whoa forgot to die for that one |
| 4:48 | and this gives us hope and this gives us confidence and so when you hear the |
| 4:54 | phrase Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world you can |
| 5:00 | consider yourself part of that group and the reason why is because you are |
| 5:05 | you are part of that group that means everybody from Adam and Eve all the way |
| 5:12 | to the last child born on the very very last day of this planet |
| 5:20 | Christ has bled and died for the sins of the whole world and it’s important for us to understand this that when we talk |
| 5:27 | about Jesus bleeding and dying it is a bloody Affair and this to our |
| 5:33 | 21st century ear might sound really offensive |
| 5:39 | you seriously saying pastor rosebro that the blood of Jesus you know blood |
| 5:47 | that God demanded a blood sacrifice well let me do some unpacking here Leviticus |
| 5:54 | 17 11. you don’t need to turn there I’ll just read it to you here’s what Leviticus 17 11 says the life of the |
| 6:01 | flesh is in the blood and Yahweh has given it for you on the altar to make atonement for your souls for it is the |
| 6:07 | blood that makes atonement by the life so you have to think of it this way is |
| 6:13 | that your sin every single one of them your smallest and your greatest and |
| 6:18 | don’t think for a second that somehow that God sits there and goes well there’s these tiny little sins and then |
| 6:24 | there’s ginormous sins and things like that no how many sins did Adam and Eve commit before it plunged us into this |
| 6:31 | horrifying curse one we’re talking about a little petty theft |
| 6:37 | in a garden right and it plunged us into the mire that we’re in so we need to stop |
| 6:42 | thinking of sin as tiny little things so every time you have not loved god with your whole heart yeah first commandment |
| 6:50 | and every time you have not loved your neighbor as yourself consult the second table of the Ten Commandments for |
| 6:57 | details there it includes things like murdering committing adultery coveting |
| 7:02 | lying dishonoring your parents are you children listening yeah every time |
| 7:09 | you’ve done that you have earned for yourself |
| 7:14 | in eternity in the Lake of Fire |
| 7:19 | let that one kind of hang out there for a second are you really saying that that tiny little white lie that I told to my |
| 7:25 | teacher when I was in third grade about not well my homework being eaten by the dog is going to send me to hell |
| 7:32 | well of course of course we checked your dog and he did not have indigestion |
| 7:39 | of course and see the thing is in order to make |
| 7:44 | things right with the holy God well there has to be a blood sacrifice |
| 7:51 | you see grace is free but it is not cheap |
| 7:56 | it is not cheap at all in fact I’d like to do a little cross-reference work so that we can get a Biblical theology a |
| 8:04 | Biblical understanding of what exactly was going on on the cross so if you turn in your Bibles to Hebrews chapter 9 |
| 8:11 | verse 1. Hebrews chapter 9 verse 1. I’ll give you a second to get there you’re |
| 8:16 | going to note that this portion of scripture Begins by making reference to the Old Testament Tabernacle |
| 8:24 | if you’re not sure what that is the Tabernacle became the temple that the Tabernacle began as this ugly |
| 8:32 | tent out in the middle of the Wilderness that God gave the specifications to |
| 8:37 | Moses to construct and once this thing was constructed it became a factory that |
| 8:45 | didn’t burn coal that didn’t burn wood it was a factory of burning animal |
| 8:51 | sacrifices and the daily routine there at the Tabernacle was a bloody affair |
| 9:01 | and it was a visual tactile representation of just what it takes to |
| 9:08 | forgive sins but here’s the rub not one of those animals that was sacrifices ever actually forgave a single sin and |
| 9:16 | that’s what we’re going to hear in this text now as we’ve been working through the book of Exodus I have noted that Old |
| 9:22 | Testament is type and Shadow pointing to the reality the temple itself is type |
| 9:29 | and Shadow of none other than Jesus Christ and his death on the cross it |
| 9:34 | always and ever pointed to him so let’s take a look at Hebrews 9 as it |
| 9:40 | begins to take Old and New Testament and helps us understand the reality of what Christ has accomplished for us verse one |
| 9:47 | now even the first Covenant that’s the Mosaic Covenant had regulations for worship in an Earthly place of Holiness |
| 9:53 | for a tent was prepared for the first section in which were the lamp stand the |
| 9:58 | table and the bread of the presence bread of the presence hmm just let that one mull around in |
| 10:05 | your mind for a minute and it is called the holy place behind the second curtain was the second |
| 10:11 | section called the most holy Place having the golden altar of incense the Ark of the Covenant covered on all sides |
| 10:17 | with gold and which was a golden urn holding the Manna and Aaron’s staff that |
| 10:22 | budded and the tablets of the Covenant and above it were the cherubim of Glory |
| 10:27 | overshadowing The Mercy Seat of these things we cannot now speak in detail these preparations having thus been made |
| 10:35 | the priests go regularly into the first section performing their ritual duties that’s the holy place but in the second |
| 10:42 | that’s the holy of holies only the high priest goes and he but once a year and |
| 10:49 | not without taking blood which he offers for himself and for the unintentional |
| 10:55 | sins of the People by this the Holy Spirit indicates that the way into the holy place is not yet opened as long as |
| 11:01 | the first section is still standing which is symbolic for the present age according to this Arrangement gifts and |
| 11:08 | sacrifices are often referred and watch what it says that cannot perfect the |
| 11:14 | conscience of the worshiper Now Behold the Lamb of God who takes |
| 11:19 | away the sin of the world and all of the blood sacrifice that that really involves actually can perfect the |
| 11:26 | conscience of the worshiper hold the thought and we’ll talk about that as it relates to our assurance and confidence |
| 11:33 | before God just a little bit further in the text but they deal only with food and drink in various Washings |
| 11:39 | regulations for the body imposed until the time of reformation but when Christ appeared |
| 11:45 | as a high priest of the good things that have come that’s right they have already |
| 11:51 | arrived then through the greater and more perfect tent not made with hands that is not of this creation he entered |
| 11:59 | once for all into the holy places not by means of the blood of goats and calves |
| 12:04 | but by means of his own blood thus securing an eternal Redemption a little |
| 12:10 | bit of a note here if you’re thinking are is this text saying that the temple wasn’t the real |
| 12:16 | thing that it was a copy of the real thing yeah actually it’s saying that and it’s going to say it even more |
| 12:22 | explicitly in a few verses think of it this way the temple that was on Earth back in the time of Jesus that was a |
| 12:29 | replica a replica of the real thing the real thing was not made by human hands |
| 12:35 | it was made by God and so we’re going to find out that Jesus Christ through his |
| 12:40 | sacrifice in his blood actually went into the real holy of holies |
| 12:47 | to make peace with God for us talk about this a little bit more verse 13 for if |
| 12:54 | the blood of goats and Bulls and the sprinkling of defiled persons with the ashes of a heifer sanctify for the |
| 13:00 | purification of the flesh well how much more will the blood of Christ who through the eternal spirit offered |
| 13:06 | himself without blemish to God purify our consciences from dead Works to serve |
| 13:12 | the Living God and this is an important note here the Lamb of God |
| 13:18 | whose lamb is it God’s lamb now if you think of it this way all of the religions of the world |
| 13:25 | and all of the perversions of Christianity say that you are made right with God by your sacrifice your |
| 13:33 | obedience the things that you do or maybe the check that you write I like that please make your check payable to |
| 13:39 | Pastor Chris Roseboro but see scripture flips this on its head you see |
| 13:46 | it’s not about you bringing your sacrifice it’s about God providing for |
| 13:51 | you the sacrifice in his grace his Mercy as a gift |
| 13:56 | remember when Abraham was told to sacrifice his son Isaac and the way the |
| 14:02 | text reads sacrifice your son your only son on the mountain that I have |
| 14:07 | commanded he says they’re going only son wasn’t Ishmael another sermon we’ll talk about that in a different sermon but |
| 14:14 | what happens while Abraham and Isaac are climbing Mount Moriah Isaac is sitting there going well we got |
| 14:20 | the fire I see the knife where’s the lamb for the sacrifice more True Rewards you will never hear in |
| 14:26 | scripture Abraham answered God himself will provide the sacrifice |
| 14:32 | and he did it wasn’t Isaac the sacrifice that God has provided is |
| 14:39 | his son who has bled and died for you the Lamb of God the Spotless sinless Lamb of God |
| 14:49 | the true sacrifice for our sins wasn’t something you brought it was something that God brought for you or should I say |
| 14:57 | someone whom God brought for you verse 15 so therefore Christ is the mediator |
| 15:03 | of a new covenant so that those who are called may receive the promised Eternal inheritance since the death has occurred |
| 15:10 | that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first Covenant an important Motif in scripture |
| 15:16 | is this concept that eternal life is an inheritance let me remind you that |
| 15:22 | inheritances we all know how they work Grandma she’s loaded we can’t wait for |
| 15:27 | her to crump because as soon as she’s gone oh man The Inheritance is coming |
| 15:33 | and we’re going to Tahiti baby that’s a little crass but you get the idea the idea is an |
| 15:41 | inheritance is given upon someone’s death and eternal life is an inheritance |
| 15:48 | scripture says it over and over and over again even the Jews in Jesus’s day |
| 15:54 | understood it’s an inheritance remember that Rich Young Ruler Lord what must I do to inherit |
| 16:01 | eternal life what a dumb question just wait for the person to die who’s going to give you the inheritance and |
| 16:07 | wait for the will to be read out this is the point so |
| 16:13 | Jesus is the mediator of a New Covenant so that those who are called may be received the promised Eternal inheritance since the death has occurred |
| 16:20 | that redeems them from the transgressions committed under the first Covenant for where there is a will |
| 16:26 | involved I think last will and testament the death of the one who made it must be |
| 16:32 | established for a will takes effect only at death since it is not in force as long as the one who made it is alive |
| 16:38 | therefore not even the first Covenant was inaugurated without blood for when every commandment of the law had been |
| 16:45 | declared by Moses to the people he took the blood of calves and goats with water and Scarlet wool and hyssop and sprinkle |
| 16:52 | both the book itself and all of the people saying this is the blood of the Covenant that God commanded for you and |
| 16:58 | in the same way he sprinkled with blood both the tent and all the vessels used in worship indeed under the law almost |
| 17:05 | everything is purified with blood and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins let me say it |
| 17:13 | again without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins and this |
| 17:20 | should give us pause because we’ve all heard preachers popular preachers in our |
| 17:25 | day who never talk about Sin they always talk about mistakes |
| 17:31 | they never talk about things that you’ve committed against God by sinning and transgressing His holy law they always |
| 17:38 | paint you out to be the victim you you would be achieving great things in your |
| 17:44 | life if only people hadn’t have spoken terrible words over you saying you’ll never amount to anything |
| 17:51 | now I’m not justifying that kind of talk but the problem is this our problem with |
| 17:58 | God has nothing whatsoever to do with the fact that we’re not living up to our potential |
| 18:04 | the problem is is that we’ve transgressed God’s holy and eternal law and without the shedding of blood there |
| 18:11 | is no forgiveness of sins to rightly understand the problem and the only |
| 18:17 | solution that is offered in scripture requires me as a pastor to do that |
| 18:22 | thorny thing and look at each of you in the eye and say you are a sinner |
| 18:29 | you do not do what you ought to do you know you should do better and you don’t |
| 18:36 | and don’t think for a second that God sits there and goes well I just understand that humans are frail and |
| 18:43 | weak and so I’ll just turn a blind eye that’s not the solution that’s offered |
| 18:49 | the solution like I said is free it’s a gift but it is not cheap |
| 18:55 | and without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sins and Christian preaching that does not call Sinners to |
| 19:02 | repent and to trust in the shed blood of Christ spilled on the cross of Calvary is not |
| 19:09 | Christian preaching or as Paul says in First Corinthians I chose to know nothing among you except for Christ and |
| 19:17 | him crucified important stuff now verse 23 it was necessary therefore |
| 19:24 | for the copies the copies of the things in heaven the Tabernacle the temple |
| 19:30 | itself that the Heavenly things be purified the copies of the Heavenly things to be purified with these rights |
| 19:35 | but the Heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these for Christ has entered not into holy places made |
| 19:43 | with hands which are copies of the true things but into heaven itself now to |
| 19:48 | appear in the presence of God on our behalf and you’re sitting there going where does it say this in Scripture that |
| 19:55 | Jesus went into heaven into the temple in heaven in order to enter into the |
| 20:01 | holy Place well to appear in God’s presence with his own blood in hand answer it says it right here |
| 20:10 | this is giving you information that no human being ever saw with their own eyes |
| 20:16 | but was revealed through the Holy Spirit to the Divine author of the book of Hebrews |
| 20:22 | for Christ has not entered in the holy places made with hands which are copies of the true things but into heaven |
| 20:28 | itself now to appear in the presence of God on our behalf for us nor was it to |
| 20:34 | offer himself repeatedly as the high priest enters the holy places every year with blood that is not his own for then |
| 20:40 | he would have had to suffer repeatedly since the foundation of the world but as it is he has appeared once and for all |
| 20:47 | at the end of the ages to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself and just as |
| 20:53 | it is appointed for man to die once and after that comes the Judgment so Christ having been offered once to Bear the |
| 21:00 | sins of many will appear a second time not to deal with sin but to save those |
| 21:06 | who are eagerly waiting for him for since the law has but a shadow of the |
| 21:11 | good things to come and this is a very vital text over and again I say Old Testament type and Shadow New Testament |
| 21:18 | the reality the form the substance that appears that casts the shadow in the Old Testament Hebrews 10 1 explicitly says |
| 21:26 | that the Torah has but a shadow of the good things to come instead of the true form of these realities and it can never |
| 21:33 | by the same sacrifices that are continually offered every year make perfect those who draw near now quick |
| 21:40 | note here if the Tabernacle that becomes Solomon’s |
| 21:45 | Temple is burned down rebuilt by Herod is a copy of the thing in heaven and is |
| 21:53 | a type and Shadow pointing us to the reality and the reality is Christ do the |
| 21:58 | math on this there is a whole group of Christians today in our country and around the world who think it’s a good |
| 22:04 | thing that the Israelites are hoping to someday rebuild the Temple in Jerusalem |
| 22:12 | based on what we know from this text is that a good thing or a bad thing |
| 22:19 | it would be bad it would actually be an abomination |
| 22:24 | it’s a physical literally if it were rebuilt it would be a physical daily |
| 22:31 | poke in the eye of Jesus and say we deny that you have died for our sins and the |
| 22:38 | temple was pointing to you the whole time it’s the bringing a back of the type and |
| 22:43 | Shadow and the denying of the substance that it always pointed to so keep that in mind |
| 22:51 | verse 2. otherwise would they not have ceased to be offered since the worshipers having once been cleansed |
| 22:56 | would no longer have any consciousness of sin but in these sacrifices there’s a reminder of sins every year for is |
| 23:03 | impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins |
| 23:10 | doesn’t say it’s hard doesn’t say it’s difficult it doesn’t say it’s challenging it says it’s impossible for |
| 23:18 | the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins none of the Old Testament sacrifices ever did that they always |
| 23:26 | pointed to the mercy of God that was coming in Christ so consequently when Christ came into the world he said |
| 23:33 | sacrifices and offerings you have not desired but a body you have prepared for me and burnt offerings and sin offerings |
| 23:39 | you have taken no pleasure and then I said behold I have come to do your Will O God as it has written me in the scroll |
| 23:45 | of the book and when he had said above you have neither desired nor taken pleasure and sacrifices and offerings |
| 23:50 | and burnt offerings and sin offerings these are offered according to the Torah then he added behold I have come to do |
| 23:57 | your will he does away with the first in order to establish the second notice verse 9 Christ has done away with the |
| 24:04 | Torah and all of its sacrifices and he has established the second Covenant which is the New Covenant and by that |
| 24:12 | will we have been Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ |
| 24:18 | once for all notice Sanctified is in the past tense you have already been |
| 24:25 | Sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ |
| 24:31 | period once for all think of it this way scripture is clear you are not made Holy |
| 24:38 | by Jesus’s work plus your work it’s not like there’s a part of your |
| 24:45 | sinfulness where you can say don’t worry Jesus I got it I’ll take care of that part and you can |
| 24:51 | just take care of the rest that’s not how this works Jesus’s sacrifice is a sacrifice once for all |
| 24:59 | for every one of your sins and he’s the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of |
| 25:04 | the world verse 11 every priest stands daily at |
| 25:09 | his service offering repeatedly the same sacrifices which can never take away |
| 25:15 | sins doesn’t say they can’t take away sins |
| 25:21 | from time to time never but when Christ had offered for |
| 25:26 | all time a single sacrifice for sins he sat down at the right hand of God |
| 25:32 | waiting from that time until his enemies should be made a footstool for his feet for by a single offering he has |
| 25:41 | perfected for all time those who are being sanctified |
| 25:48 | hmm it sounds like that Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the |
| 25:53 | world statement when you start to unpack what scripture reveals about it that’s huge so huge that it can actually begin |
| 26:00 | to do something crazy make you begin to think maybe just maybe |
| 26:08 | I can be saved and it begins to give you a little bit of confidence because if you think about |
| 26:14 | your sin and the things that you’ve done the things that you are ashamed of |
| 26:20 | these are the kinds of things that well wake you up in the middle of the night have you ever done this you know there |
| 26:26 | you are sleeping soundly and maybe your dreams kind of drift off into a bizarre Direction and all of a sudden you wake |
| 26:32 | up with a start and you go I’m gonna die someday |
| 26:39 | and that fear and Dread and doubt and oh |
| 26:45 | my goodness what am I gonna say starts to come into your mind and what do we try to do we start to arrange and kind |
| 26:51 | of sort through our life well I did this good thing I did this good thing I went to church on that Sunday and I wrote |
| 26:56 | that big check that one time and then you start to think about the other column and you and you start to kind of |
| 27:02 | weigh them and and always that sin pan just goes punk you know |
| 27:07 | and what does it do it creates inside of you anxiety so that the idea of standing face to |
| 27:15 | face with Christ doesn’t bring you Joy or peace or something that you long for |
| 27:21 | instead what it brings you is complete fear and dread oh no there’s Jesus where’s a rock I gotta hide under it |
| 27:30 | but when you understand behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin |
| 27:36 | of the world you begin to have a different set of feelings and these feelings are |
| 27:44 | I can’t wait to see him I can’t wait to worship at his feet and |
| 27:50 | thank him for what he has done for me there is no longer any fear only a |
| 27:57 | longing to see him face to face and a confidence of his love and his Mercy |
| 28:04 | towards you you see the cross is everything |
| 28:10 | and when you try to add to it you lose it all |
| 28:15 | his sacrifice is once and for all verse 15 the Holy Spirit also Bears |
| 28:22 | witness to us saying this is the Covenant that I will make with them after those days declares the Lord I |
| 28:28 | will put my laws on their hearts write them on their minds and the lads I will remember their sins and their Lawless |
| 28:35 | Deeds no more is that saying God’s gonna get me off |
| 28:43 | scot-free yes |
| 28:49 | because Jesus actually suffered in your place |
| 28:54 | and where there is forgiveness of these there’s no longer any offering for sin |
| 29:00 | you don’t need to try to please God or earn your salvation by your Works your checks |
| 29:06 | all the things that you’d want to try to offer up put those away regarding |
| 29:11 | justification do them because you are saved not in order to be saved |
| 29:17 | therefore Brothers since we have and watch this word confidence |
| 29:26 | not fear not doubt no not anxiety confidence to enter the holy places by |
| 29:35 | the blood of Jesus you can literally no joke because of the blood of Christ |
| 29:41 | Waltz right in to the very presence of God |
| 29:47 | and he will not smoke you you have confidence because of the blood |
| 29:54 | of Christ by the New and Living Way that he opened for us through the curtain that is through his flesh and since we |
| 30:00 | have a great high priest over the house of God let us draw near with a True Heart in full assurance |
| 30:08 | that’s right you can have assurance and have confidence and know that you are |
| 30:14 | saved now you are made pleasing to God by Christ and his shed blood for you so |
| 30:22 | you have the opposite of fear anxiety and doubt now you have confidence now |
| 30:27 | you have Assurance with our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience that’s right you don’t need to feel your |
| 30:34 | guilt no more the blood of Christ even sprinkles clean those evil thoughts within your |

| 31:46 | this is where he’s promised to be for you to continue to heal you to forgive you to bind up your wounds to strengthen |

| 31:59 | as we wait until the day when he returns or We join him in heaven so not neglecting to meet together as is |

| 32:57 | and so we think the greatest spokesmans for Jesus are the ones who say let me |
| 33:03 | tell you I used to be a scumbag I used to be in the mafia and I break the kneecaps of like 10 people a day and |
| 33:10 | then I would get high every night but then somebody said you know you got to try Jesus out and I thought that they |
| 33:16 | were crazy and so the next day I woke up in a pile of my own vomit and then I |
| 33:22 | thought you know what I’d give Jesus a try and so now I’m not a scumbag anymore I’m only mostly a scumbag and so you |
| 33:28 | need to try Jesus too because he’s going to make your life so much better a little bit of a caricature |
| 33:36 | here’s the problem the person who is doing that they’re not |
| 33:41 | actually telling you about Jesus the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world they’re telling you about themselves and |
| 33:48 | how much more gooder they are I know it’s bad English but you get the |
| 33:53 | point they’re not really pointing to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world they’re saying yo look at me |
| 34:01 | and that’s the problem that’s not bearing witness to Christ that’s bearing witness to yourself and I’ve got news |
| 34:07 | for you this is a therapeutic kind of Jesus they’re talking about the what’s in it |
| 34:13 | for me Jesus I mean after all I mean if Jesus isn’t going to make your life better of what |
| 34:19 | use is he but Jesus promises Us in this lifetime persecution and suffering and a cross |
| 34:25 | and tells us to deny ourselves so the experience of being a Christian may be like the worst thing ever |
| 34:33 | and you’re going to note this there are some in this congregation who have grown up in the Christian faith |
| 34:40 | they never spent time in the mafia never broke anyone’s kneecaps and they’ve come to church have their sins forgiven |
| 34:47 | Sunday after Sunday they’ve raised their children and now they’re living a quiet |
| 34:52 | piece of a life paying their taxes waiting to retire and so they sit there and they think |
| 34:57 | because well cousin Vinnie over here has this great testimony and I don’t that somehow I can’t talk about Jesus as if |
| 35:06 | my well my testimony isn’t compelling enough your testimony has nothing to do |
| 35:11 | with pointing people to the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world and let me show you from the text going a |
| 35:18 | little long today the next day John the Baptist saw Jesus coming toward him and said Behold the |
| 35:24 | Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world this is he of whom I said after me comes a man who ranks before me |
| 35:29 | because he was before me I myself did not know him but for this purpose I came baptizing with water that he might be |
| 35:36 | revealed to Israel John bore witnessed and said I saw the Spirit descend from |
| 35:41 | heaven like a dove and it remained on him I myself did not know him but he who sent me to baptize with water said to me |

| 36:25 | because John basically tells us nothing about himself and keeps saying that’s |
| 36:30 | him that’s him that’s the Lamb of God he’s the take he’s the one who takes away the sin of the world |
| 36:37 | to be a witness is to point people to Jesus not you |
| 36:42 | which means it doesn’t matter how great or terrible your story is you that |
| 36:47 | doesn’t matter what matters is he’s the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world let me tell you about Jesus |
| 36:55 | and this is what it means to be a witness the next day John was standing with two of his disciples that’s right |
| 37:01 | two of his leadership team and they looked at Jesus as he walked by and said Behold the Lamb of God the Lamb of God |
| 37:09 | knowing full well by doing this that his leadership team was going to shrink |
| 37:14 | and so the two disciples heard him say this and they and they followed Jesus and Jesus turned and saw them following |
| 37:20 | and said to them what are you seeking and they said to him teacher where are you staying he said to them come you’ll |
| 37:27 | see so they came and saw where he was staying and they stayed with him that day for it was about the 10th hour one |
| 37:33 | of the two heard John speaking and followed Jesus it was Andrew Simon Peter’s brother that’s right the great |
| 37:39 | Apostle Peter he found his brother Simon and said to him we found the Messiah |
| 37:46 | and he brought him to Jesus |
| 37:52 | to be a witness is to bring someone to |
| 37:57 | Jesus Point them to Jesus Peter had to have |
| 38:04 | somebody bring him to Jesus John the Baptist brought his own disciples to |
| 38:10 | Jesus you are here today because somebody brought you to Jesus |
| 38:18 | so don’t think for a second that witnessing is somehow this really |
| 38:24 | mystical very difficult thing to do all it requires is for you to bring |
| 38:30 | someone to Jesus in the name of Jesus Amen |
