0:28the holy Gospel According to Saint John chapter 1 verses 43-51 the next day
0:34Jesus decided to go to Galilee he found Philip and said to him follow me now
0:39Philip was from beceda the city of Andrew and Peter Philip found Nathanael
0:45and said to him we have found him of whom Moses in the law and the prophets wrote Jesus of Nazareth the Son of God
0:51the son of Joseph Nathanael said to him can anything good come out of Nazareth
0:56Philip said to him come and see Jesus taught Nathanael coming toward him instead of him behold an Israelite
1:02indeed in whom there is no deceit Nathanael said to him how how do you know me Jesus answered him before Philip
1:09called you when you were under the Fig Tree I saw you Nathanael answered him Rabbi you’re the Son of God you’re the
1:16king of Israel Jesus answered him because I said to you I saw you under the Fig Tree do you believe you will see
1:21greater things than these and he said to him truly truly I say to you you will see Heaven open and the angels of God
1:27ascending and descending on the son of man this is the gospel of the Lord in the name of Jesus
1:34voices voices everywhere which of them shall you listen to there’s voices out
1:39there claiming to be speaking the word of God let me give you an example it’s
1:45now 2018. and all of the people who claim that they hear God’s voice
1:50speaking directly to them claiming to be prophets have taken to the interwebs to
1:55pronounce the word of the Lord for 2018. so there’s a little bit of a problem
2:01they’re contradicting themselves one prophetess her name is Cindy Jacobs she
2:06also claims to be an apostle she says that 2018 is going to be a remarkable
2:13year it’s just gonna be blue skies abundance and blessing all around buckle
2:19up get ready get the buckets out God’s Reign is going to pour down you better be ready to collect it but then Jim
2:26Baker who also claims to hear directly from God says that 2018 is the year of
2:32Sorrows that there’s going to be famine and pestilence and you better buy food
2:38buckets from him in order to survive what’s coming and he’s also prophesied that there will be a terror attack at
2:45the Winter Olympics next month who are we to listen to then you think about that voice from the 19th century that
2:52voice by the name of Charles Darwin his voice rang out and said oh no no no man
2:58was not created in the image of God God did not create the world in six days no
3:04no no no no no your grandparents were all monkeys and there’s a lot of people today
3:10in the Church of all places parroting those words picking up the
3:15voice of Darwin and speaking it as if it’s truth in Christ’s Church but then what about that voice inside of your
3:22heart that voice that says oh it’s just a white lie it’s not that big a deal it
3:30doesn’t this isn’t really that damaging of a sin as long as it doesn’t hurt somebody else
3:36now oftentimes we listen to that voice more than we listen to the crackpots on TBN that voice that comes from our own
3:44sinful heart that would tell us to do likewise than what God’s word tells us to do voices voices everywhere to which
3:53of them do you ascribe deity to which of them do you bend the knee
3:58it’s kind of the question before us today Hebrews 1 verses 1 through 3 says this
4:04long ago and many times in many ways God
4:09spoke to our fathers by the prophets but in these last days he has spoken to us
4:16by his son whom he has appointed the heir of all things through whom also he
4:23created the world he Jesus is the radiance of the glory of God the exact
4:28imprint of his nature he upholds the universe by the word of his power
4:34you see the question before us is where can we hear the voice of this fellow where do you go today to
4:43hear the voice of Jesus to hear the voice of God there’s a lot of voices claiming to be the voice of God but to
4:50which of them should you hang your hat to the ones claiming to be receiving prophetic Revelation to the scientists
4:57who deny that the world is a special creation to your own voice within your
5:03heart challenging what God has said is sin and not sin or the voice of the devil that comes and
5:09tempts you which voice do you ascribe God’s voice to him
5:16in first Samuel our Old Testament reading there’s a wonderful phrase that’s worth picking up but the story is
5:21too good to not tell first Samuel chapter 3 we learn about the boy Samuel
5:27Samuel by the way was the very very first of a particular type of prophet in the Old Testament Moses himself was a
5:34prophet Deuteronomy 18 makes this very clear that Moses was a prophet he heard
5:39God’s word and he spoke God’s word to the people he was basically kind of a
5:45relay station God spoke it stopped there he relayed the message and when God
5:50speaks and you are to speak what he says you don’t modify the message that’s no
5:59bueno Eternal consequences will ensue but Moses Faithfully relayed what God
6:06spoke and he prophesied that there would be a prophet who would be like him who would arise to whom we must listen he
6:13prophesied about Jesus and in the interim God raised up another set of
6:18prophets they became known as the school of the prophets and you can say their founding member was a fellow by the name
6:24of Samuel and here we see his call and this wonderful attitude that we as Christians
6:30ought to consider applying in our own lives the boy Samuel was ministering to
6:35Yahweh in the presence of elife you know the story Samuel was a child who was
6:41born because of the prayers of his mom who was Barren and she dedicated him to the Lord and although he was not a
6:47levite she sent him to work in the Tabernacle as a young boy and he was
6:53there ministering under Eli Eli will just say was a permissive fellow not a
6:59very faithful high priest at the time in fact Not only was he permissible and things that he ought not to do and
7:05you’ll see that in just a minute he his sons also served at the Tabernacle with him and these were well worthless
7:13fellows they like to hook up with some of the ladies who worked at the Tabernacle hooking up with the ladies
7:19working at the Tabernacles the sexual sin and Eli knew about it and he did nothing nothing to stop it but keep that
7:27in mind Samuel’s serving he’s not a levite he’s serving in the Tabernacle
7:32under Eli and the word of the Lord was rare in those days there was no frequent
7:38Vision at that time Eli whose eyesight had begun to grow dim so that he could not see was lying down in his own place
7:45the lamp of God had not yet gone out and Samuel was lying down in the temple of
7:51the Lord where the Ark of God was that’s a polite way of saying that Samuel was
7:57actually sleeping in the holy of holies which you’re not supposed to do I mean
8:04you’re only supposed to enter the holy of holies once a year with the sacrifice for the day of atonement and the blood
8:11then gets poured on The Mercy Seat which is the lid for the Ark of the Covenant he’s sleeping in the holy holies and
8:16Eli’s doing nothing to stop this but God is merciful he doesn’t count against Samuel and so the Lord then decides that
8:24he’s going to have a conversation with Samuel the Lord called to Samuel and Samuel said here I am and he ran to Eli
8:31I said here I am you called me and he said I didn’t call you
8:36go lie down again so he went and lay down it’s the Lord called Samuel again Samuel
8:43Samuel Rose went to Eli said here I am you called me what an obedient child how come my kids
8:49weren’t like this but he said I did not call you my son lie down again now
8:54Samuel did not yet know the Lord and the word of the Lord had not yet been revealed to him and the Lord called
9:00Samuel again the third time and he rose and went to Eli and said here I am you called me
9:05Eli perceived that Yahweh was calling the boy therefore Eli said to Samuel go
9:11lie down and if he calls you you shall say speak Yahweh
9:17your servant your slave listens so Sammy went and laid down in his place
9:24and the Lord came and stood this is language that evokes Genesis 3 where the
9:31Lord is walking in the cool of the day so you know who’s showing up here it’s Jesus he’s the one he’s the one standing
9:38there so the Lord came and stood calling as at other times Samuel
9:45Samuel Samuel said speak
9:51for your servant listens hmm great attitude by the way great way to
9:57respond when God speaks we say Lord speak and we will listen
10:04but that begs the question where do we go to find the voice of God where is God
10:09speaking today is he wanting to speak to you inside of your heart to give you special
10:16revelation of your supposed god-given destiny that you’re supposed to fulfill in this life is he raising you up to be
10:23some kind of a prophet who will say nonsensical words like this is the season where suddenlies will happen
10:29where is God speaking because we as Christians our attitude should be Speak
10:35Lord for your servant listens and hears let’s consider Our Gospel text as we try
10:41to find the answer to this John chapter 1 Our Gospel text says this the next day
10:46Jesus decided to go to Galilee and this was after he had called Peter to be his disciple and even after John the Baptist
10:54upon seeing Jesus said Behold the Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world so Jesus is in Galilee by the way
11:01Galilee is not exactly known as one of those places that produces profound theologians Galilee is kind of a
11:09blue-collar town the people there are earthy and you recall in Luke’s gospel
11:15when Jesus did call Peter to be his disciple that as part of that whole
11:20ordeal in calling Peter to be his disciple Peter realized who Jesus was and realized just how sinful he was and
11:27he said to Jesus depart from me I am a sinful man and indeed
11:33he was even going so far as to betray Christ and disown him when he was on trial
11:40so Jesus goes to kind of a fruitless territory to raise up disciples and he
11:48found Philip and no don’t think that just because this is a blue-collar town these kids didn’t know their catechism
11:53and that’s kind of the point you’re going to see this here although these guys blew up grew up in blue collared
11:59Galilee were hard-working people whose hands were rough and gnarled from the work that they were doing they knew
12:06their Bible they knew and the only Bible they had was the Old Testament you can see this so Jesus found Philip
12:13and he said to him follow me notice he did not say if you make a decision you
12:19can ask me into your heart and then you can decide to follow me no When Jesus Says follow me
12:26that’s not to invoke your free will because you don’t have free will when it comes to God you see Jesus is speaking
12:32the way God speaks in Genesis where he says let there be light and there was light Jesus says later to his disciples
12:39you did not choose me I chose you so
12:44there’s Jesus out there in Galilee he says to Philip you follow me and guess
12:50what happens when Jesus speaks in that way Philip decides to get up and follow him because Jesus said so it was Jesus
12:57doing the choosing now Philip was from bethsaida the city of Andrew and Peter Philip found Nathanael and he said to
13:04him so you know immediately after beginning following him Philip has got to go tell everybody about Jesus and
13:09watch these amazing words we have found him
13:15which means they were looking for him and the only way they would know that they were looking for somebody like
13:20Jesus was because they were reading their Bible because the Old Testament it’s all about Jesus it’s pointing to
13:27Jesus creating the expectation that the Messiah will come they’re waiting for
13:33God’s chosen anointed one to appear and Philip says we’ve found him and listen
13:38to these great words the one of whom Moses in the law and also the prophets wrote ah and he connects the one who the
13:47prophets wrote about to Jesus of Nazareth the son of Joseph now Nathanael also being a
13:54well-catechized Jew although working tough in a blue-collar job he knows his Bible and he’s going through the
14:00database in his mind going whoa wait a second here the Messiah is not supposed to come from Nazareth the Messiah is
14:07supposed to come from Bethlehem and so he immediately kind of puts the brakes on and he asks the question
14:14can anything good come out of Nazareth that’s not where the Messiah is supposed to be from see he knows his Bible and
14:20you’re going to note that Jesus credits him he credits him for this in just a minute so Philip said to him all right
14:26come and see now as they’re approaching Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward him and he said
14:33to him behold an Israelite in whom there is no
14:39deceit and the reason he’s crediting him is because of his biblical skepticism
14:46because he knows where Jesus is supposed to be from and so Jesus doesn’t knock him for
14:52saying well wait a second Jesus Praises him for it because Philip
14:58and Nathanael already know where to hear the voice of God and to hear the voice of God in the scriptures and you’re
15:05going to note these fellows are not tainted by the false religion of the Pharisees and their false views that
15:12there is a second voice of God to be found in What’s called the oral Torah
15:17these guys aren’t tainted by that they know Moses and the prophets and they know this and Jesus says to fill up that
15:24this Nathaniel that he’s a fellow in whom there is no deceit because well you can think of it this
15:31way Nathaniel and Philip are the first two bereans before there were bereans that’s the idea and Jesus Praises them
15:38for that so Jesus said behold an Israelite in whom there is no deceit Nathanael said to him
15:45how do you know me and then Jesus says something that he can only know
15:50miraculously because he’s the son of God Jesus answered him before Philip called
15:56you when you were under the Fig Tree I saw you Nathaniel answered him Rabbi you’re the
16:02Son of God you’re the king of Israel now remember when Peter made his great confession about who Jesus was
16:09you know who do people say that I am Peter Chimes up and eventually says you are the Christ the son of the Living God
16:15and Jesus says to Peter flesh and blood has not revealed this to you but my
16:21father who is in heaven and you sit there and go take a look at this fellow right at the very beginning as he’s
16:26being called to be a disciple Jesus miraculously tells him something about his life that he could not possibly have
16:32known Crossing through time and space which Jesus has this amazing ability to do and he believes and we must conclude
16:40from the other passages of scripture that it is God who has now worked in him to make this confession regarding Christ
16:47and so Jesus basically says to him because I said to you I saw you under
16:52the Fig Tree do you believe man this guy’s bowled over pretty easily right you’ll see greater things than these and
16:59he said to him amen amen I say to you you will see Heaven opened and the angels of God ascending and
17:07descending on the son of man the exact same language by the way used for Jacob’s Ladder now this is for a
17:13different sermon at a different time but it’s important for us to always remember that Jacob’s Ladder is not a what
17:18Jacob’s Ladder is a who Jesus is Jacob’s Ladder he’s the one who crosses the gap
17:24between Heaven and Earth he is the one who has descended to Earth and has ascended he is Jacob’s Ladder different
17:32sermon though now remember what Hebrews said long ago at many times and in many ways God spoke to our fathers by the
17:38prophets but in these last days he has spoken to us by our son in the words of
17:45Samuel the prophet Speak Lord your servant listens so again I beg the
17:51question and rephrase the question where on Earth are we to go to hear the voice of God you’ll note that Philip and
17:58Nathanael are praised for listening to the voice of God God in the written scriptures well remember that Jesus
18:06whose disciples he’s calling right now in our text later tells his disciples
18:12these important words the one who hears you hears me the one who rejects you
18:20rejects me the one who rejects me rejects him who sent me that’s Luke
18:26chapter 6 verse 49 so the one who hears you hears me now in our confessions when
18:33we confess the apostles and the nicean Creed in the Nicene Creed we say things like this we believe in one holy
18:41Universal and here’s the word Apostolic church what do we mean by that
18:47word what is meant by it how are we to understand it Apostolic means that this is a church
18:54that preaches the apostolic message the apostolic scriptures the apostolic
19:00gospel the one that the apostles taught because how many books did Jesus write
19:06zero how do we know about Jesus what he did what he said what he said would take
19:13place how do we know about anything about Jesus answer only through his disciples who became the apostles so to
19:21be an Apostolic church is to confess that the only place we know of where we
19:27can say with 100 certainty that we are hearing the voice of Jesus is in the
19:32apostolic word written for us in the Bible
19:37plain and simple now someone recently asked me Pastor Roseboro how do I know
19:43whether that voice inside of me is the voice of the Holy Spirit or is the voice
19:49of my own sinful flesh or the voice of the devil great question by the way fantastic question how do you know
19:55answer when the voice inside of your head is reciting back scripture you’re
20:01hearing the voice of the spirit let me put it this way scripture itself tells us to meditate on God’s word
20:09meditate on it what does that mean it does not mean going and sitting in the Lotus position taking your fingers and
20:16your thumb and doing this and going home um no
20:22meditate the Hebrew word for meditate is a very interesting word picture we’ve
20:27all seen cows I know Roger has dealt a lot with cows when we visited his home very early here at Kong’s vinger you
20:33guys had cows at your home and I went out with him and he had took hay and was feeding the cows from this ginormous
20:40thing of hay and what do cows do when they eat
20:45um it’s terrible to look at but you know what I’m saying they chew their cud they
20:53chew and they too and they choo choo choo choo choo that’s what the Hebrew
20:59word for meditate literally is the word picture for take God’s word inside of
21:05you and now now chew on it that’s the idea you want to get God’s
21:11word deep down inside of you you take it you read it you think about it you
21:18meditate on it let your mind keep grinding on it and thinking about it and letting the depth and the magnitude suck
21:25the morrow out of the word of God so that it gets deep down inside of you
21:31memorize it this is a foreign concept nowadays take portions of scripture
21:38memorize it so that you own it and what you will find happening is that as you
21:44meditate on God’s word as God’s word gets inside of you remember God’s word is living it’s active sharper than a
21:53double-edged sword and there’s a reason for this that we’ll talk about that in just a second but as God’s word gets
21:59inside of you as life circumstances come your way remember when Jesus was tempted in the
22:05wilderness to do all kinds of bizarre stuff because the devil’s a sick puppy how did Jesus send the devil packing it
22:12has written this that and the other thing quoted Deuteronomy to him and that’s the idea so when the voice
22:18inside of your head is saying the exact same thing as scripture you’re hearing the voice of the spirit
22:24how do I know this well consider with me what second Timothy chapter 3 says starting in verse 14. Paul writing to
22:31Young Pastor Timothy who was one of the pastors of a congregation in the city of Ephesus
22:36he writes to him and he says as for you young Pastor Timothy continue in what you have learned and have firmly
22:42believed knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings
22:52hmm Old Testament and it’s funny because as Paul’s writing this he’s now also writing scripture the sacred writings
22:59which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus and important words that we should all
23:06be familiar with all scripture graphey is the Greek word grafe means writing
23:12all scripture is breathed out by God Theo nustas the picture here breathed
23:19out by God think of it this way Adam when Adam was
23:24formed by God there’s his lifeless body made from the dust of the earth not yet alive but it
23:32says God breathed on him the Breath of Life so you have this wonderful picture of
23:40God of Christ standing over the lifeless body of Adam and going
23:46and he wakes up and he’s alive you see all scripture is breathed out by God and
23:53it’s profitable for teaching for reproof for for correction for training in righteousness so that the man and will
23:59even say woman of God may be complete tell us finished and equipped for listen
24:04to these words every good work there is no good work that Christ is
24:10calling you to do or will call you to do that God’s word the written word of God
24:15will not prepare you for in fact you know with certainty every time you open
24:22up God’s word and you are reading it in context that you are hearing the voice of God
24:28so if you want to hear the voice of God read your Bible if you want to hear it out loud read it out loud
24:35or come to church and when the pastor is preaching the word and you are hearing the word of God
24:41you’re hearing not his voice you’re hearing God’s voice now the pastor deviates and starts teaching nonsense
24:47then you’re hearing the voice of the devil stack that fellow right even if it’s me that’s the idea you’re here to hear
24:54God’s voice not mine you’re here to hear Jesus not me that’s the idea
25:00so the word of God will equip you for these things so this living active word of God is the place where we as
25:06Christians say Speak Lord your servant is listening
25:11speak and God speaks now I want you to consider something then this Jesus who said the one who
25:19hears the apostles hears him this Jesus has spoken through the Apostle John and
25:25I want you to consider the very last chapter of the Bible if you would look with me at Revelation
25:31chapter 22 and I want you to hear the words of Jesus in the pen in the quill of John John the
25:39Apostle not John the Baptist but John the Apostle and I want you to consider this that this chapter literally is not just
25:48the last chapter in your Bible it is the very last chapter written in
25:55all of scripture put it on a timeline chronologically the Gospel of John is
26:01the last book to be written it is written when John is a very old fellow
26:06John was very young when he was called as a disciple and they tried killing him
26:11several times to make him a martyr and it didn’t work God wouldn’t allow him to
26:17be killed so they exiled him exiled them to Patmos and this is where
26:23he is so he’s an old fellow he’s now got gray hair probably a little senile and
26:29cranky like me because you get the idea so this is an old fellow Peter’s long gone Paul is long dead the other
26:37disciples are in their graves having died martyr’s death and he now is
26:42receiving this wonderful vision of what is coming and seeing the third
26:49heaven and the Throne of Christ and the Saints around the Throne of Christ worshiping Christ and so what we’re
26:55hearing here is the very close of the Bible itself and listen to the words of Jesus in this
27:03revelation so the angel he showed me the river of Water of Life
27:09brightest Crystal flowing from the Throne of God and of the Lamb through the middle of the street of the city
27:15also on either side of the river the Tree of Life with its 12 kinds of fruit yielding its fruit each month very
27:24fascinating thing that we got this picture of Water of Life even in the new earth water of life somehow talking
27:32about baptism and the tree of life and the 12 fruits makes you wonder about
27:38those 12 disciples and maybe the cross something like that the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the Nations
27:44and no longer will there be anything accursed but the Throne of God and the lamb will be in it the cert and the
27:50servants will worship him they will see his face and his name will be on their foreheads and night will be no more they
27:57will need no light of lamp or sun for the Lord will be their light and they will reign forever and ever
28:04he said to me these words are trustworthy and they are true and the Lord the god of the spirits of the
28:11prophets has sent his Angel to show his servants what must soon take place and
28:16now hear the words of Jesus behold I am coming soon
28:23blessed is the one who keeps is the Greek word means to guard guards the
28:31words of the prophecy of this book a little bit of a note here last chapter
28:37of the entire book of the Bible chronologically the last which book of Prophecy do you think
28:44Jesus is referring to do you think he’s merely referring to the Book of Revelation
28:50no because we have other passages where Jesus in The Gospel says the one who
28:56loves me will guard my word so blessed is the one who keeps the
29:03words of this prophecy of this book and I don’t think you’re out of place to say this is not referring merely to the Book
29:10of Revelation but is referring from Genesis all the way up to this point
29:15and then I John the one who heard and saw these things and when I heard and saw them I fell down to worship at the
29:21feet of the Angel who showed them to me but he said to me you must not do that
29:26I am a fellow slave with you and your brothers the prophets notice that the
29:33angel puts John on the same level as the prophet they’re all servants serving you
29:38and they are the ones writing these things to serve us so I’m the servant
29:43slave just like your brothers the prophets and with those who guard the words of this book
29:51worship God and then he said to me do not seal up the words of the prophecy of this book
29:57for the time is near let the evildoers still do evil the filthy still be filthy
30:02the righteous still do right the holy still be holy behold again Jesus is speaking I am coming soon bringing my
30:10recompense with me to repay each one for what he has done I am the Alpha and the Omega the first and the last the
30:16beginning and the end blessed are those who wash their robes so that they may
30:21have the right to the tree of life that they may enter the city by the gates ah
30:27so brothers and sisters let me take a moment here to reflect we’re all guilty
30:32of listening to voices that we ought not to listen to listening to the voice of the devil listening to the voice of false teacher
30:39listening to the voice of our own sinful flesh and our own sinful hearts and as a
30:44result of listening to them we have believed and done things that have
30:49soiled our robes with the filth of sin there’s no way around it and there is no
30:57Tide Pods that you can use to clean it out nothing you can do
31:03however remember that from the side of our savior
31:09after who’s pierced bruised nailed to the tree suffered bled and died that
31:15when the Roman soldier thrust his spear into the side of Christ out flowed blood
31:20and water the two things when mixed together become our baptism
31:26and it is in the blood of Christ that we wash our robes that have been soiled
31:32with sin so that they can be made white by the Crimson blood of Christ
31:39and Jesus says of those who have been United with him in his death and his
31:44resurrection who’ve had their sins washed away by the Water of Life mixed with the blood of Christ in baptism that
31:51they are blessed and they have the right to the tree of life that they may enter the city by the gates that’s you and me
31:58so let us never forget the great gift that God has given us in our baptism to wash away our sins let us always
32:05remember that our baptismal water flows from the cross itself and that we in the
32:12hearing the voice of Jesus realize that we are blessed now outside of the city
32:18Gates outside of the New Jerusalem are the dogs the sorcerers the sexually immoral the
32:25murderers the idolaters and listen everyone who loves and practices
32:30falsehood falsehood from the person who sits there and says I’m hearing the voice of God
32:36and you need to come to me to learn what God is saying right now for this season to the person who twists God’s word and
32:43makes merchandise of people and tells you send in your seed offering to me and
32:49God will bless it to the person who listens to the voice of the world and
32:55its Pleasures or the voice of your own sinful flesh and its desires to the one
33:01who practices falsehood loves falsehood doesn’t love to hear the voice of God in
33:07his truth those people are outside the city Gates they have no place in the New Jerusalem
33:14and then Jesus says I have sent my angel to testify to you about these things for the churches I am the root and the
33:21descendant of David the bright and The Morning Star the spirit and the bride say come and let the one who hears say
33:27come and the one who is thirsty come let the one who desires take the Water of Life without price and I warn everyone
33:34who hears the words of the prophecy of this book again I keep pointing to all
33:40of scripture the one who hears the words of the prophecy of this book if anyone adds to them God will add to him the
33:46plagues described in this book and if anyone takes away from the words of the books of this prophecy God will take
33:52away his share in the tree of life and in the holy city which are described in
33:57this book you see it as a sin to listen to other voices than the voice of God Eve in listening to the voice of the
34:04serpent plunged us into the mire that we find ourselves in so we must repent and
34:11keep this in mind that God when his voice rings out it must always be a solo
34:18it is never part of a choir and if you’re mixing the voice of God with other voices and making him sing
34:25tenor in a choir or in a trio or a quartet or whatever
34:31you’re falling short you’re adding to his words or Worse you’re subtracting
34:37from it and this is sin sin that we must repent of sin that we must be forgiven
34:44of so listen only to the voice of God there’s only one place you can go to hear it
34:49and that’s the written word of God listen to his voice and listen to him singularly he will never lie to you
34:58and he who testifies to these things says surely I am coming soon amen amen
35:03come Lord Jesus so brothers and sisters the word of God has spoken God has condemned us for our
35:11idolatry to listen to other voices and he is assured us of the Forgiveness of our sins because of what Christ has done
35:17for us on the cross he has assured us that this is has been applied to you individually by uniting
35:24you to him in his death and his resurrection in the waters of baptism and he assures you that he is coming
35:29quickly soon very soon and that you will see him face to face and enjoy the
35:35Delights of eternal life in a World Without End all of this by his grace through faith so stop listening to the
35:42other voices repent be forgiven and then bearing fruit and keeping with repentance we say Speak Lord your
35:50servant listens in the name of Jesus amen [Music]
