| 1:16 | on their faces and they were terrified |
| 1:19 | but Jesus came and touched them saying |
| 1:22 | rise have no fear and when they lifted |
| 1:25 | up their eyes they saw no one but Jesus |
| 1:28 | only and as they were coming down the |
| 1:31 | mountain Jesus commanded them tell no |
| 1:33 | one the vision until the son of man is |
| 1:36 | raised from the dead this is the gospel |
| 1:39 | of the Lord in the name of Jesus |
| 1:43 | brothers and sisters is a fascinating |
| 1:45 | thing happening within the visible |
| 1:46 | church today and that is this chasing |
| 1:49 | after the glory now you may have heard |
| 1:52 | it talked about in Pentecostal or |
| 1:54 | charismatic circles and I always find it |
| 1:56 | very fascinating that when they talk |
| 1:57 | about the glory they had a whole bunch |
| 1:59 | of syllables to the word it becomes the |
| 2:00 | glory something like that and as a |
| 2:04 | result of it there are many people today |
| 2:05 | who are chasing after religious |
| 2:09 | experiences with God and there’s a lot |
| 2:12 | of nonsense being spoken about the |
| 2:14 | nonsense such as I saw the glory come |
| 2:17 | into the church and I was whisked up |
| 2:19 | into the third heaven spent time with |
| 2:21 | Jesus at Starbucks and we even stopped |
| 2:24 | by his wine cellar and I got drunk in |
| 2:26 | the spirit I wish I was making this up |
| 2:28 | this is actually a real problem |
| 2:31 | but you’ll notice that with our reading |
| 2:34 | today Our Gospel reading we have an |
| 2:36 | encounter a religious experience Peter |
| 2:39 | James John they all went up on a |
| 2:42 | mountain hmm important things happen on |
| 2:44 | mountains pay attention to that they |
| 2:46 | went up on a mountain and there Jesus |
| 2:49 | was transfigured before their eyes and |
| 2:51 | you can say this was the religious |
| 2:53 | experience of all religious experiences |
| 2:56 | in fact I know some charismatics who |
| 2:58 | would sell their mothers Into Slavery to |
| 2:59 | have an experience like this and I wish |
| 3:01 | I was making that up |
| 3:03 | that’s how much they chase after these |
| 3:05 | types of things and yet in our epistle |
| 3:07 | text today Peter does something very |
| 3:11 | fascinating |
| 3:12 | he takes that shining Jesus |
| 3:16 | shining in all of his glory and he puts |
| 3:20 | him somewhere |
| 3:22 | and so the question before us today is |
| 3:24 | where did Peter Put The Shining Jesus |
| 3:27 | that’s the question that we’re going to |
| 3:30 | answer but you know me I like to ramble |
| 3:32 | a little bit so we’re going to start in |
| 3:34 | our Old Testament text and we’re going |
| 3:37 | to kind of let a story unfold in order |
| 3:39 | to answer this question |
| 3:41 | and so our first question before us as |
| 3:43 | we’re answering a bigger question as |
| 3:45 | we’re on this journey is have you ever |
| 3:48 | stopped to wonder when did the writing |
| 3:51 | of the Bible begin |
| 3:53 | s when did it start what you know when |
| 3:56 | we talk about you know building a |
| 3:58 | building we talk about that Cornerstone |
| 4:00 | the Cornerstone was later it’s something |
| 4:02 | symbolic that begins the building of an |
| 4:05 | important edifice we do it with all of |
| 4:06 | our major skyscrapers and things like |
| 4:08 | that and you can look if you were |
| 4:10 | traveling in a major city you can look |
| 4:11 | at a building and you find that |
| 4:13 | Cornerstone and it’ll tell you what year |
| 4:15 | that building was built have you ever |
| 4:18 | stopped to think that maybe the Bible |
| 4:19 | has a Cornerstone |
| 4:24 | does it |
| 4:25 | well let’s review we’ve been working our |
| 4:27 | way through the book of Exodus and let’s |
| 4:29 | just kind of ask a question has Moses |
| 4:32 | had time by Exodus 24 to begin the |
| 4:36 | important work of writing the Bible |
| 4:40 | seems like he’s had a pretty busy |
| 4:41 | schedule I know something about busy |
| 4:42 | schedules okay but let’s kind of review |
| 4:44 | look look back through his calendar if |
| 4:47 | you would and we remember that well |
| 4:49 | Moses he remember he was on the Run he |
| 4:52 | was a fugitive he had murdered an |
| 4:54 | Egyptian and his face was plastered all |
| 4:57 | over the Egyptian post offices and every |
| 5:00 | Saturday night on Egypt’s most wanted |
| 5:02 | his face have you seen this man right |
| 5:04 | and of course he wasn’t too far away he |
| 5:07 | was in Midian he had gotten married had |
| 5:09 | some children and now he’s a shepherd |
| 5:11 | and he spent 40 years outside of Egypt |
| 5:15 | after being raised in the Palace of |
| 5:18 | pharaoh right and the Lord appears to |
| 5:21 | him gives him an assignment Moses tries |
| 5:24 | to weasel his way out of it you know I |
| 5:27 | have chosen you for this Grand important |
| 5:29 | task you’re going to go and set my |
| 5:31 | people free and Moses says please send |
| 5:33 | someone else but that didn’t work and so |
| 5:37 | he finds himself back in Egypt we have |
| 5:40 | the ten plagues and all of his meetings |
| 5:43 | face to face with hard-hearted pharaoh |
| 5:45 | and then finally with the Passover the |
| 5:48 | children of Israel are brought out of |
| 5:49 | Egypt right to the Red Sea the sea Parts |
| 5:52 | they’re delivered from their enemies and |
| 5:55 | no sooner do they get across will they |
| 5:57 | begin to Grumble and they need water and |
| 5:59 | food and things like that and God splits |
| 6:01 | the rock of Horeb to give them water and |
| 6:03 | feeds them Manna From Heaven and we’re |
| 6:05 | all familiar this because we’ve been |
| 6:06 | working our way through these well |
| 6:08 | through this narrative |
| 6:10 | as we’ve been doing Sundays so up to |
| 6:14 | this point |
| 6:15 | Moses has been a busy fellow so busy he |
| 6:19 | hasn’t been able to grab his parchment |
| 6:22 | and quill and begin that wonderful first |
| 6:26 | part of Genesis |
| 6:30 | in the beginning God created the heavens |
| 6:33 | and the Earth he has not begun the |
| 6:35 | project yet right |
| 6:39 | hmm |
| 6:40 | so when did |
| 6:43 | the foundation the Cornerstone of |
| 6:45 | scripture get laid answer in our Old |
| 6:49 | Testament text did you see it |
| 6:51 | did you see well let’s go back through |
| 6:52 | and see if I can point this out to you |
| 6:54 | and by the way this has everything to do |
| 6:56 | with our big question today where did |
| 6:58 | Peter Put The Shining Jesus that’s and |
| 7:01 | believe me it has everything to do with |
| 7:03 | that here’s what it says Exodus 24 verse |
| 7:06 | 8 we’re going to note a few important |
| 7:08 | things as we work back through this |
| 7:10 | Moses took the blood |
| 7:12 | the blood of the Covenant threw it on |
| 7:15 | the people and said behold the blood of |
| 7:18 | the Covenant the Lord has made with you |
| 7:19 | in accordance with all of these words |
| 7:23 | hmm blood sprinkled people |
| 7:28 | that sounds like us does it not you’re |
| 7:31 | thinking when was I sprinkled with blood |
| 7:36 | right there |
| 7:37 | many of you write and then that very |
| 7:39 | baptismal font |
| 7:41 | the blood of Christ mixed with the |
| 7:43 | Waters of baptism makes a baptism right |
| 7:45 | you are blood sprinkled people then the |
| 7:47 | next verse Moses and Aaron and nadab and |
| 7:49 | abihu and the seventy of the Elders of |
| 7:51 | Israel they went up and they saw the god |
| 7:54 | of Israel |
| 7:56 | there was under his feet as it were a |
| 7:58 | pavement of sapphire stone like the very |
| 8:00 | heaven for clearness and it he did not |
| 8:03 | lay his hand on the chief men of the |
| 8:06 | people of Israel they beheld God |
| 8:09 | and they ate and they drank |
| 8:13 | eating in the presence of God a meal |
| 8:15 | with God a covenant meal with God |
| 8:19 | that sounds a lot like |
| 8:22 | hmm so here we have blood sprinkled |
| 8:25 | people |
| 8:26 | those who are eating an important meal |
| 8:30 | with the Lord |
| 8:31 | which we do every time we have the |
| 8:32 | Lord’s Supper |
| 8:34 | and then these words |
| 8:35 | so Yahweh said to Moses come up to me |
| 8:38 | onto the mountain wait there so that I |
| 8:41 | may give you tablets of stone with the |
| 8:44 | law and the Commandments which which I |
| 8:47 | have written |
| 8:48 | for their instruction and there it is |
| 8:53 | here in Exodus 24 we see that the |
| 8:56 | Cornerstone of the Bible itself |
| 9:00 | the beginning of the project of writing |
| 9:03 | the scriptures for our instruction |
| 9:06 | begins with God himself |
| 9:10 | and he writes the Ten Commandments in |
| 9:12 | his own handwriting on Stone |
| 9:16 | and that’s where the Bible begins |
| 9:20 | and it’s for our instruction |
| 9:23 | it’s the ins for the instruction of |
| 9:24 | those who are sprinkled with the blood |
| 9:27 | of the Covenant who eat in fellowship |
| 9:29 | with God |
| 9:31 | that’s us |
| 9:32 | because we have been grafted into Israel |
| 9:35 | and with that let’s take a look at our |
| 9:37 | gospel text today Matthew 17. |
| 9:41 | we’re going to note some important |
| 9:42 | things going on in this text |
| 9:45 | Matthew 17. |
| 9:48 | starting at verse 1. after six days |
| 9:51 | Jesus Took with him Peter James and John |
| 9:54 | his brother and led them up a high |
| 9:56 | mountain by themselves important to note |
| 9:58 | this in the Old Testament in order to |
| 10:00 | establish a thing there has to be at |
| 10:02 | least two witnesses jesus takes two plus |
| 10:05 | one a little bit more than what is |
| 10:07 | necessary and right before them I think |
| 10:10 | there’s a word missing here in the in |
| 10:12 | the Greek text between verses one and |
| 10:14 | two the word is Boom it really should go |
| 10:17 | like this so he led them up to the high |
| 10:19 | mountain by themselves and boom he was |
| 10:21 | transfigured before them you can’t |
| 10:23 | imagine that’s got to be what it’s like |
| 10:25 | I mean there’s Jesus and all of a sudden |
| 10:26 | whoa he was transfigured before them his |
| 10:30 | face Shone like the sun his clothes |
| 10:33 | became White as light and behold there |
| 10:37 | appeared to them Moses and Elijah |
| 10:40 | talking with him |
| 10:42 | there it is Jesus in all of his glory |
| 10:44 | and who is it that appears with him well |
| 10:47 | if we think about the Old Testament the |
| 10:49 | Old Testament the Hebrews call it the |
| 10:51 | Tanakh right and the Tanakh has kind of |
| 10:54 | two primary pillars the first part of |
| 10:56 | the Tanakh is written by Moses these are |
| 10:59 | the first five books of the Bible and |
| 11:01 | then as we understand history as it’s |
| 11:03 | revealed even within the scriptures |
| 11:05 | itself the next part of the scriptures |
| 11:07 | is compiled by the prophets so in much |
| 11:10 | the same way that we elect congressmen |
| 11:12 | and senators and we send them to |
| 11:14 | Washington to represent us here in while |
| 11:18 | Jesus’s Transfiguration two |
| 11:21 | representatives of the entire Old |
| 11:23 | Testament show up Moses and Elijah Moses |
| 11:27 | representing Torah Elijah representing |
| 11:30 | the prophets and there they are |
| 11:31 | conversing with Jesus if you do your |
| 11:33 | cross-reference work in the Book of Luke |
| 11:36 | we learned that they were having a |
| 11:38 | conversation with Jesus about his and |
| 11:41 | this is what it’s fun they’ve bring a |
| 11:43 | Hebrew word into the Greek text in Luke |
| 11:44 | about Jesus’s Exodus |
| 11:48 | his departure |
| 11:50 | important stuff so there he is there’s |
| 11:53 | Moses and Elijah and two primary pillars |
| 11:56 | of the Old Testament they appeared with |
| 11:58 | him and then Peter |
| 12:00 | like Peter is apt to do says something |
| 12:02 | kind of silly you know he means well |
| 12:04 | he’s got a lot of zeal but he needs to |
| 12:07 | temper it with some better |
| 12:08 | understandings he says lord it’s good |
| 12:11 | that we’re here if he he remembers back |
| 12:13 | because when Moses went up on Mount |
| 12:15 | Sinai to be with the Lord in the |
| 12:16 | presence of the Lord they were there for |
| 12:18 | a while remember |
| 12:21 | long time |
| 12:23 | so long was Moses up on the mountain |
| 12:25 | that when he finally came down you know |
| 12:28 | he came back to the children of Israel |
| 12:30 | well they had given up well we don’t |
| 12:33 | know what happened to him thus perished |
| 12:35 | Moses he was gone for over 40 Days for |
| 12:37 | 40 days right he’s missing so they |
| 12:40 | thought maybe he died and so they made a |
| 12:42 | golden calf and they worshiped it you |
| 12:44 | know the story right so Peter is |
| 12:46 | thinking man we’re going to be here for |
| 12:47 | a while so I I have an idea Lord let’s |
| 12:50 | I’ll make you three tenths one for you |
| 12:53 | one for Moses one for Elijah |
| 12:56 | and while that was going on while he was |
| 12:59 | still speaking |
| 13:01 | Behold a bright Cloud overshadowed them |
| 13:04 | we saw this exact cloud in the book of |
| 13:07 | Exodus |
| 13:08 | overshadowed them in a voice from the |
| 13:10 | clouds said this is my beloved Son with |
| 13:14 | whom I am well please and here are the |
| 13:16 | words listen to him |
| 13:20 | listen to him |
| 13:24 | now |
| 13:25 | end of our pericope verse 9 it says this |
| 13:28 | they were coming down the mountain Jesus |
| 13:30 | commanded them tell no one the vision |
| 13:33 | until the son of man is raised from the |
| 13:35 | dead |
| 13:36 | so how do we know about this incident |
| 13:39 | how do we know about it well after Jesus |
| 13:41 | rose from the dead |
| 13:43 | Peter James and John said oh man |
| 13:45 | remember that mountain thing that Jesus |
| 13:47 | transfigured we better write this down |
| 13:50 | now how many books did Jesus write |
| 13:53 | not a one not even one I mean how are we |
| 13:57 | supposed to listen to him if he hasn’t |
| 14:01 | written anything right it’s not like |
| 14:03 | he’s on videotape he can’t find Jesus on |
| 14:05 | YouTube and by the way if you find Jesus |
| 14:06 | on YouTube that’s not Jesus just saying |
| 14:09 | so there you are commanded by the father |
| 14:13 | to listen to Jesus |
| 14:17 | I wanna I I want to do this I think it’s |
| 14:19 | important but how do I do it well |
| 14:22 | remember what Jesus said to his Apostles |
| 14:23 | the one who receives you |
| 14:26 | receives me the one who receives me |
| 14:29 | receives the one who sent me the one who |
| 14:31 | hears you hears me |
| 14:33 | ah now we got we got a little bit of a |
| 14:35 | clue here and so the reason we know |
| 14:37 | about this is because at some later |
| 14:39 | point |
| 14:41 | the disciples decided we’d better write |
| 14:43 | this down |
| 14:45 | so lord it’s good we’re here the cloud |
| 14:48 | overshouse Shadows them this is my |
| 14:49 | beloved Son with whom I am well pleased |
| 14:51 | listen to him and as we work through the |
| 14:54 | book of Exodus we’re going to find out |
| 14:55 | the reaction of the children of Israel |
| 14:57 | when they hear the voice of God at Mount |
| 14:59 | Sinai |
| 15:01 | they were shaking in their boots |
| 15:04 | absolutely shaking so much so the |
| 15:07 | children of Israel eventually say don’t |
| 15:09 | let us talk to God or he’ll kill us |
| 15:12 | we’re afraid we’re terrified by his |
| 15:14 | voice you you Moses you go |
| 15:17 | and this is an important thing here |
| 15:20 | so it says the disciples they fell on |
| 15:23 | their faces and they were terrified when |
| 15:25 | they heard the voice of God there are |
| 15:27 | many people out there claiming that |
| 15:28 | they’re hearing God’s voice in all |
| 15:30 | different ways and the one thing they |
| 15:32 | seem to have a supreme lack of is Terror |
| 15:35 | and you’ll notice over and over and over |
| 15:39 | again in scripture when people have an |
| 15:42 | encounter with either the one true holy |
| 15:44 | God or his angels their first response |
| 15:48 | is not hey how’s it going fist bump dude |
| 15:50 | no it’s ah important to note so they’re |
| 15:54 | terrified but Jesus came and he touched |
| 15:56 | them saying |
| 15:58 | rise |
| 15:59 | have no |
| 16:02 | fear |
| 16:04 | and how is it that we can have no fear |
| 16:07 | when we hear the voice of God because we |
| 16:11 | fall so far short |
| 16:15 | The Ten Commandments if you’re confused |
| 16:17 | about this matter |
| 16:18 | you will have no other gods before me |
| 16:20 | you will not take God’s name in vain you |
| 16:22 | will keep the Sabbath day holy honor |
| 16:24 | your father and mother you will not |
| 16:26 | murder you will not steal you will not |
| 16:28 | covet you will not commit adultery does |
| 16:31 | he see what I’m saying here |
| 16:33 | we fall so far short |
| 16:37 | but Jesus has rise |
| 16:39 | and have no fear you see it’s only Jesus |
| 16:42 | who can Comfort Us in the midst of God’s |
| 16:45 | terrifying voice that convicts us of our |
| 16:48 | sin and our shortcoming that shows us |
| 16:50 | just how Unholy we are |
| 16:53 | and the reason Jesus is able to say have |
| 16:55 | no fear |
| 16:56 | is because he went to the Cross took our |
| 16:59 | sin upon himself bled and died in our |
| 17:03 | place so that we would have no fear in |
| 17:06 | the presence of this holy God this is |
| 17:08 | important stuff |
| 17:10 | so when they lifted up their eyes |
| 17:13 | they saw no one but Jesus |
| 17:17 | only |
| 17:18 | wonderful they saw no one but Jesus and |
| 17:22 | Jesus only |
| 17:26 | and it’s to him we are to listen to him |
| 17:29 | we are to see only him |
| 17:32 | now the question comes up |
| 17:34 | let’s take a look at our epistle text |
| 17:36 | second Peter chapter 1 16-21 and we’re |
| 17:39 | going to note what Peter does here |
| 17:42 | Peter recounts this religious experience |
| 17:46 | truly he was in the presence of the |
| 17:48 | glorified Christ he saw Moses he saw |
| 17:51 | Elijah he heard the voice of the father |
| 17:54 | and you’re going to note something here |
| 17:56 | that Peter does not say |
| 17:59 | and just as I had this religious |
| 18:01 | experience and was there and experienced |
| 18:07 | you too need to seek and find this glory |
| 18:10 | and have this kind of experience too |
| 18:13 | it’s not what he says like not even |
| 18:15 | close instead what Peter does is really |
| 18:18 | fascinating |
| 18:19 | it’s as if he takes Jesus in his shining |
| 18:22 | glory and finds a way to put him in the |
| 18:25 | palm of his hand |
| 18:27 | and he puts this shining Jesus in a very |
| 18:31 | specific place and does it for us watch |
| 18:34 | what he does and here’s what he says |
| 18:36 | verse 16. |
| 18:37 | we did not follow cleverly |
| 18:41 | devised myths when we made known to you |
| 18:44 | the power and the coming of our Lord |
| 18:47 | Jesus Christ Jesus isn’t a myth |
| This Jesus isnt Zeus or Athena | 0.785416667 |
| 18:55 | like that says no we were eyewitnesses |
| 18:59 | of his majesty for when he received |
| 19:02 | honor and Glory from God the father and |
| 19:04 | the voice was born to him by the |
| 19:06 | Majestic Glory this is my beloved Son |
| 19:08 | with whom I am well pleased we ourselves |
| 19:11 | heard this very voice born from heaven |
| 19:15 | and we were with him on the holy |
| 19:17 | mountains see as he’s writing this you |
| 19:20 | can tell he all of this is coming |
| 19:21 | flooding back to him and he can see the |
| 19:24 | whole thing as if it happened just a |
| 19:25 | minute ago and there he sees The Shining |
| 19:28 | Jesus and here’s what he says to us |
| 19:32 | and we have something more sure |
| 19:37 | something more certain |
| 19:42 | seriously think about this |
| 19:44 | I mean if there was ever a life-changing |
| 19:46 | experience that we should all probably |
| 19:47 | have right I mean we got to go climb a |
| 19:50 | mountain and we need to hear the voice |
| 19:53 | of the father and we need to see The |
| 19:54 | Shining Jesus |
| 19:57 | Peter’s saying listen those experiences |
| 20:00 | we were eyewitnesses of them but we all |
| 20:04 | today we actually have something more |
| 20:06 | sure and more certain than that |
| 20:10 | and you think about it how many of us |
| 20:12 | have ever had an experience where we |
| 20:14 | thought |
| 20:16 | was that real am I crazy |
| 20:18 | maybe my blood sugars were a little low |
| 20:20 | it could be bad Pizza not that there is |
| 20:24 | such a thing I just want to make that |
| 20:25 | very clear there is no such thing as bad |
| 20:27 | Pizza I mean especially in the morning |
| 20:29 | oh have you ever had it for breakfast |
| 20:30 | like then oh anyway sorry I’m distracted |
| 20:33 | but the thing is is that an experience |
| 20:35 | is something |
| 20:37 | that may or may not quite be right |
| 20:40 | it may there may be other things |
| 20:43 | seeing isn’t always believing |
| 20:46 | so the question is where can we go and |
| 20:49 | have certainty regarding this Jesus and |
| 20:52 | watch where he points us |
| 20:55 | so we ourselves we heard this voice born |
| 20:57 | from heaven we were with him on the Holy |
| 21:00 | Mountain we have something now more sure |
| 21:02 | more certain are you ready the prophetic |
| 21:05 | word |
| 21:08 | translation the Bible |
| 21:11 | this is more sure and more certain than |
| 21:14 | any experience the prophetic word and he |
| 21:17 | says this and you will do well you |
| 21:19 | Christians you will do well to pay |
| 21:21 | attention as to a lamp shining in a dark |
| 21:26 | place |
| 21:27 | and there it is what does Peter do he |
| 21:30 | takes Jesus the transfigured Jesus |
| 21:33 | shining in all of his bright Glory his |
| 21:35 | face like the sun is closed white white |
| 21:39 | like lightning and he takes him and he |
| 21:41 | squishes into the palm of his hands and |
| 21:43 | then he pushes him through his quill |
| 21:45 | right into the text of scripture |
| 21:48 | so that now when you open up the Bible |
| 21:50 | you can’t see it with your own eyes but |
| 21:54 | Peter says that’s what it’s doing you |
| 21:56 | open up God’s word and there is The |
| 21:58 | Shining Jesus transfigured before our |
| 22:01 | eyes and the light of his glory is the |
| 22:05 | thing that is instructing us and showing |
| 22:08 | us the way through the darkness that is |
| 22:10 | this world |

| 22:51 | the day of his return |
| 22:53 | God Wills for us to be instructed have |
| 22:58 | our sins convicted through his law as he |
| 23:01 | speaks to us his word of Law and our |
| 23:04 | souls and consciences to be comforted |
| 23:06 | through the word of his gospel in no |
| 23:09 | other place than in the written word of |
| 23:12 | God because that’s the place that we can |
| 23:15 | say Jesus right now is shining for us |
| 23:18 | and he will be shining there until he |
| 23:21 | returns and on the day that he returns |
| 23:24 | the day of his return then we will see |
| 23:26 | his glory with our own eyes |
| 23:28 | and that’s the idea |
| 23:31 | so pay attention |
| 23:33 | to the prophetic word |
| 23:35 | it is now the lamp shining in a dark |

| 23:42 | knowing first of all no prophecy of |
| 23:45 | scripture comes from someone’s own |
| 23:47 | interpretation and that’s a good thing |
| 23:50 | with all the different authors of |
| 23:52 | scriptures there’s one common author and |
| 23:55 | that common author is God the holy |
| 23:57 | spirit for no prophecy was ever produced |
| 23:59 | by the will of man that men spoke from |
| 24:02 | God as they were carried along |
| 24:04 | by the Holy Spirit |
| 24:07 | so where did Peter Put The Shining Jesus |
| 24:10 | right into your Bible |
| 24:12 | and there he is for us today |
| 24:15 | in the light of his glory is leading us |
| 24:18 | is it not said of scripture that it is a |
| 24:21 | lamp into our feet and a light into our |
| 24:24 | path |
| 24:25 | what good is light if you don’t use it |
| 24:27 | and see here’s the thing Jesus has made |
| 24:30 | himself that light for us and that’s |
| 24:34 | where he meets us that’s where he speaks |
| 24:37 | with us that’s where he instructs us and |
| 24:40 | all of this is a gift from God |
| 24:44 | one that we would be wise to not shun or |
| 24:48 | despise because man does not live by |
| 24:50 | bread alone |
| 24:51 | but by every word that proceeds from the |
| 24:54 | mouth |
| 24:55 | of God |
| 24:58 | so where do we go to find The Shining |
| 25:00 | Jesus he’s not up on a mountain |
| 25:02 | he won’t find him out in the fields |
| 25:05 | you don’t have to travel to Jerusalem |
| 25:08 | he’s shining today |
| 25:10 | in his word for you |
| 25:13 | in the name of Jesus |
| 25:15 | amen |
