Alan “AK” Kosmatka age 61 of Minto, ND was called home to the Lord to join his father-in-law, Almore Lind who went to be with the Lord the same day as Alan 5 years ago on Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, ND.

Alan was born on August 6, 1953 in Grand Forks, ND, the son of Julian and Phoebe (Ebertowski) Kosmatka. Alan grew up in rural Grafton and was baptized and confirmed at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Warsaw, ND. He graduated from Grafton High School in 1972. Alan farmed and was also a Crane Operator for Peterson Construction of Grand Forks. He worked for American Crystal Sugar Company in Drayton, ND in the Storeroom Office. On June 24, 1978 he was united in marriage to Julie Lind at Zion Lutheran Church in Oslo, MN. Alan was past president and member of the Warsaw Hall and was currently president of the Lake of the Woods Birch Beach Association. He was a member of the Circle of Friends Humane Society.

Alan loved to fish, farm and also did woodworking in his spare time. He spent lots of time at their lake home on Birch Beach at Lake of the Woods. He and Julie were caretakers of the church lawn and snow removal for many years.

Loving family members of Alan include his wife Julie of 36 years; son Joshua (Erika) Kosmatka of Grand Forks, ND; granddaughters, Addy and Jaden; brother, Gary “Radar” Kosmatka of Warsaw, ND; sister, Ernestine Ebertowski of Warsaw, ND; mother-in-law, Ila Lind of Oslo, MN; brothers-in-law, Arlyn Lind of Oslo, MN, Alan Lind of East Grand Forks, MN, Arden Lind of Oslo, MN; sister-in-law, Joni McEnroe (Mike) of Grand Forks, ND; nieces, Chloe Lind, Molly McEnroe, Carrie Shea, Kelly Kowalski and Jenny Hutchinson; nephews, Nicholas Lind, Tremayne Ebertowski and Jamie Kosmatka along with Alan’s dog “Koda”.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brother James Kosmatka and father-in-law, Almore Lind.

Funeral Service: 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015 in Kongsvinger Lutheran Church, 15950 470th Ave. NW, Oslo, MN.

Visitation: One Hour Prior Memorial Service on Tuesday, June 9th, 2015 in Kongsvinger Lutheran Church.

Interment: Kongsvinger Lutheran Cemetery ~ Oslo, MN
